“Alex is the best! He provided excellent assistance throughout every step of the process and helped make the successful loan approval possible within a very impressive timeframe. Thank you so much, Alex, for all your support and guidance. It was greatly appreciated.”
You look after everyone else all day, which tends to leave your own finances last in the queue. Here's something worth knowing: lenders compete hard for people in your profession, often with perks that don't reach the rest of us.
What is an LMI waiver for doctors?
LMI normally applies when you borrow above 80% of a property's value, and it can cost tens of thousands. For eligible professions, several lenders waive it at higher ratios entirely. Whether you qualify depends on the lender's current policy and your circumstances; our job is knowing both.
Read our LMI guideWhich professions qualify for medico lending?
Commonly medical practitioners, dentists and some allied health roles, with each lender keeping its own list. Overtime, on-call allowances, salary packaging and practice income are all read differently, and the presentation of the file is where the outcome is decided.
Can I get a home loan as a registrar or graduate?
Often, yes. Some lenders assess professionals on trajectory as well as current income, so registrars, graduates entering practice and newly admitted professionals can have more options than they expect.

Worth knowing
What is an LMI waiver for professionals?
Several lenders waive Lenders Mortgage Insurance for eligible members of certain professions borrowing at higher loan-to-value ratios, because of the profession's income profile. Eligibility rules differ by lender and change over time; we check what applies to you rather than promising anything up front.
I am early in my career: does this still apply?
Often, yes. Some lenders assess professionals on trajectory as well as current income. Registrars, graduates entering practice and newly admitted professionals can have more options than they expect. General information only; your file decides.
Do you handle practice purchase and commercial needs too?
Yes, through our business and commercial finance work: rooms, fit-outs, equipment and practice purchases. It pairs naturally with getting the home lending structure right.
What does your service cost?
Nothing. Some brokers charge for their advice; we expressly do not. Lenders pay us on settlement, disclosed up front.
